Frequently asked questions
These are the answers to some of the most common FAQs we're asked. If the answer you seek isn't here, we'd be pleased to speak to it during a demonstration.
-
Apart from NAPLAN, what external testing do you support?
AAS (Allwell), Cambridge CEM, ACER PAT, and VCAA OnDemand are some of the best known.
-
How do you measure academic growth?
We have a number of ways of measuring growth and they're closely tied to the type of assessment being used. NAPLAN and ACER have quite specific advice on determining growth and we follow this advice. We also employ absolute measures of growth, like growth against a curriculum and relative approaches where we compare a student to their own prior performance, or to the performance of students who had performed at a similar level, historically.
-
How are you dealing with the changes to NAPLAN?
We're able to use NAPLAN's new performance ratings "Exceeding", "Strong", "Developing" and "Needs Additional Support" and backward map to the previous method as well. You'll be able to act on student needs based on the new performance categories, while still being able to identify changes to previous performance.

What happens if we have data that we want included, but it’s data you haven’t integrated with before?
We work with new data sources on a case by case basis, ultimately looking to achieve an automated integration but there are other options for getting data in and we’re always open to discussing options.
